"My Love Is Here" — A Samoyed Reunion

"My love is here." That was the message we got from a client standing at Manila arrivals, watching her Samoyed roll out on a trolley after a long-haul flight.

The route

A two-leg journey with a transit stop, flown as manifest cargo with a live animal booking on both sectors. Fluffy, double-coated breeds need extra care: temperature limits are stricter and airlines are more conservative about heat.

What we did differently for a Samoyed

• Booked the coolest departure and arrival slots available
• Requested a shaded, ventilated holding position at the transit airport
• Fitted a larger water dispenser and froze it partially so it melted slowly
• Chose a crate one size up for airflow, with extra ventilation holes on all four sides where the airline permitted

At arrival

Customs clearance, quarantine inspection, and crate release took around three hours. She drank, stretched, and then leaned her whole body against her owner's legs.

For long-haul owners

Do not plan a tight connection. An extra two hours on the ground in the right conditions is far better for your pet than a fast itinerary.
