Pet-Friendly Escapes in Coron, Palawan
Published April 7, 2026

Turquoise water, limestone cliffs, and — increasingly — accommodations that will happily take your dog. Coron is one of the best domestic getaways to do with a pet, if you plan it properly.
Getting there
Small aircraft serve Busuanga, which means limited pet space. Book the pet slot the moment you book yourself, and expect stricter weight limits than on Manila trunk routes. A shipping permit is required for inter-island animal movement.
Where pets are welcome
Look for beachfront cottages and small resorts rather than large hotels — they are far more likely to allow pets, often with a cleaning deposit. Always confirm in writing, including whether pets may be in common areas.
On the water
Many island-hopping boats will take a well-behaved dog on a private charter but not on a shared tour. Bring a canine life vest, freshwater to rinse salt off, and shade — boat decks get brutally hot.
Heat safety
Walk early and late. Test the sand with the back of your hand. Carry more water than you think you need, and watch for heavy panting or bright red gums.
Bring
Tick and flea prevention, a copy of vaccination records, a collapsible bowl, paw balm, and a towel for the boat.
